How Long Will It Take To Build My Property?
There are two phases to consider: the planning and the building phases. The planning phase typically takes between 3-4 months and includes securing the lot, estimates, blueprints, drawings, engineering, permitting, and financing.
- If there is any involvement with the EPA, this phase could potentially take longer. The building phase (for an average 2000 sq ft property) typically takes between 6-8 months.
- Larger, special, or commercial properties are subject to a longer build time due to material availability and project size.
Do You Do Blueprints?
No we do not do blueprints ourselves, however, we can refer you to our associate architects and engineers to help create your blueprints.
Can I Use My Blueprints?
Yes, if they are engineered for the Florida Building Code and we are able to get your blueprints permitted.

Roofing FAQs
How Do I Know If I Need A New Roof?
Signs that indicate you may need a new roof in Florida include missing or damaged shingles, sagging areas, and visible signs of aging or wear.
What Roofing Materials Should I Get?
The choice of roofing materials depends on various factors, including your budget, desired aesthetics, and the specific climate. Common roofing materials in Florida include asphalt shingles, metal roofing, concrete or clay tiles, and flat roofing membranes.
How Often Does A Roof Need To Be Replaced?
The lifespan of a roof can vary depending on the material used, weather conditions, maintenance, and other factors. In Florida, where roofs are exposed to intense sunlight, high humidity, and occasional severe weather events, the average lifespan of a roof can range from 15 to 30 years.
What Is The Most Common Roofing Style?
In Florida, the most common roofing style is the pitched or sloped roof, often characterized by multiple gables and slopes. This style is prevalent due to its ability to efficiently shed rainwater during frequent rainstorms and provide better ventilation.
How Much Does A New Roof Cost?
The cost of a new roof depends on various factors, such as the size and complexity of the roof, the choice of materials, the location, and any additional features or services required. In Florida, the average cost for a new roof installation can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more.
Truvorne works with the Alys Beach community to provide homeowners with the best price on a new roof or roofing replacements that follow their requirements.
Should I Replace My Roof Before Listing My Home?
Replacing your roof before listing your home can be a wise decision if you’ve noticed any deterioration or other flaws. A new roof enhances the curb appeal and overall value of your property, making it more attractive to potential buyers.
Additionally, getting a new roof built by Truvorne can provide peace of mind to buyers by assuring them that they won’t need to invest in a new roof shortly after purchasing the home.
When Is The Best Time To Replace My Roof?
The best time to replace a roof in Florida is during the dry season, which typically falls between November and April. This period offers more stable weather conditions with lower chances of rain, hurricanes, or extreme heat, allowing for smoother and faster roof installation.
Truvorne considers this their busy season, so it’s best to schedule far in advance if you intend to replace your roof during this time of the year. We work with Alys Beach to make sure your roof meets the requirements and standards set by the community.
Can I Replace My Roof Myself?
Simply, no, it’s not usually recommended for homeowners to attempt replacing their roof on their own. Replacing a roof is a complex and dangerous task that requires specific skills, experience, and equipment — all of which the roofers at Truvorne have.
Improper installation can lead to costly damage and safety hazards and could violate the Alys Beach community homeowner rules and regulations. By hiring professional and experienced roofers from Truvorne, you know they will have the necessary licenses and insurance to protect you and your property during the process.
Restoration
What should I do first after water, fire, or storm damage?
Ensure safety, stop the source if possible, document damage with photos, and contact us. We can dispatch an assessment and help stabilize the site.
Do you work with insurance?
Yes. We document damage, provide estimates using insurance-standard formats, and coordinate with your adjuster
How quickly can you respond to an emergency?
We prioritize mitigation to prevent further damage. After your call, we schedule an on-site assessment and begin drying, board-up, or tarping as needed.
Can you handle both mitigation and repairs?
Yes. We manage dry-out, cleaning, debris removal, and full reconstruction to return your property to pre-loss condition.
How long does restoration take?
Mitigation often takes a few days. Repairs depend on material lead times and scope. We provide a written schedule after the initial assessment.
Will I need to move out during restoration?
It depends on the extent of damage and utility disruptions. We’ll advise on safety, comfort, and options for temporary housing if needed.
Is mold a concern after water damage?
Yes. Fast drying is critical. We use moisture mapping and professional drying equipment and can remediate mold if present.
Do you help with contents and belongings?
We can inventory, pack out, clean, and store salvageable items, then return them after repairs.
What permits are required for restoration work?
Structural repairs, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work typically require permits. We handle permit applications and inspections.
How accurate are restoration estimates before the walls are opened?
We provide a best-available estimate from visible damage. Hidden issues can change scope. We’ll communicate changes promptly and get approvals before proceeding.
